BLUE GODDESS:
This doll is made using free form bead embroidery. I designed the shape I wanted on paper then cut it out of ultra suede. I picked beads in the color range I wanted and picked an area on the doll to start. Usually off center, toward the bottom half of the doll. I like spirals and tend to use them a lot. I find them a fun way to add texture, especially if you use a round bead in the center to add more depth. The back of the doll is done the same way. The two pieces are then sewn together with a beaded picot stitch, leaving an opening for stuffing. Fringe is added as the last step.
